Martein Peeters (1969) is a master of light. He studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, and works as an artist in Amsterdam today.

 

Peeters feels drawn to the work of the great Dutch painters of the 17th and 19th century. We see this inspiration reflected in the way he works with light and dark. Using a technique that is both detailed and loose, Peeters tries to capture the mystical scenes of his imagination and the graphic structures of nature.
